About the coalition
Through
a number of actions, the Luxembourgish consortium
conducts an awareness campaign to inform on the
current situation of the African youth and promote
their right to quality basic education.
This campaign is conducted by Luxembourgish
NGOs and associations individually committed to
the cause of education for all in Africa. The
IDAY Luxembourg coalition was created in 2008
and gathers 9 members in 2010.

| Strategic goals

Help the African youth to claim its education rights
-
Echo the commitments made by the governments in the Dakar
Action Framework and the Millennium Development
Goals (MDG). The campaign also seeks to highlight
the benefits Sub-Saharan African countries would
get from raising their education budget, and how
it is the donor countries’ own interest to prioritise
education project in this region, including also
literacy as a core objective of their development
cooperation policies.

Mobilise civil society in the North into giving greater
support to education efforts in Africa.
